Industrial Engineer Field Planning (M/F) Oporto

Adecco Recruitment is looking for an Industrial Engineer – Field Planning (M/F/D) to join an ambitious project in the parcel transportation sector, working for one of the most prestigious and renowned international companies in the field, based in Porto.

Key Responsibilities:

This professional will support on-site station/gateway operations by analyzing and developing improvement initiatives. Acting as a technical expert in complex and specialized matters, they will assist management in analyzing, interpreting, and applying complex information, contributing to divisional and corporate objectives. They will also support or lead projects, applying expertise in their field.

What You Will Do:

• Prepare and monitor short term and long range plans regarding expansion procedures, staffing, equipment, vehicles and products at the operations.
• Assist in providing technical training to personnel in workshops, seminars and on-the-job training session in such areas as operations, manning, contingency planning, productivity, cost effectiveness and manpower scheduling.
• Monitor productivity, service and cost performance in all areas of operations and assists personnel in implementing required changes.
• Maintain communication between operations and corporate departments to provide technical expertise relating to facility requests, including lease termination, new location, five year planning, equipment justification, layout, vehicle planning and cost justification.
• Assiss in studies designed to implement sound, innovative engineering concepts into operations and thus produce benefits for FedEx and our customers.
• Produce operational business requirement specifications and contribute to business cases
• Create and manage project plans; monitor and review project progress and timelines; adjust schedules and plans as needed
• Present project development and results to upper management

What You Bring:

·      Degree or professional qualification in Industrial Engineering or quantitative discipline

·      Excellent command of English both written and spoken; French would be a plus

·      Strong analytical skills

·      High MS Excel skills; Formulas, Dynamic Charts, Macros

·      Programming skills (e.g. VBA for Excel, Python, etc.) are a plus

·      Data analysis skills (e.g. SQL, MS PowerBI, etc.) are a plus

·      Project management certification (e.g. PMI or PRINCE2) is a plus

·      Knowledge on: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Supply Chain or logistics is a plus

·      At least two years of experience working as operation engineer into manufacturing or services areas, supporting operations areas, positions like Quality Engineer, Operations Engineer, Process Engineer or continuous improvement engineers should cover this experience

·      Implementation and managing of KPI, such as productivity and efficiency

·      Developing Procedures and operative manual;

• Mapping and analyzing process
• Prepare and present reports
• Performing cost and benefit analysis
• Training people, operative and administrative
• Experienced on time and movements analysis, line balancing or routes calculation
• Leading root cause analysis initiatives. Use of analysis tools like Pareto, Ishikawa, Trend analysis, etc.
